Train In Vain (Stand By Me), by The Clash

One of the saddest lyrics ever. This song refers to what Rob says in High Fidelity: "Nobody worries about kids listening to thousands, literally thousands of songs about heartbreak, rejection, pain, misery and loss". However, music doesn't connect with the sadness. Fortunately. It is as if Joe Strummer had said: "Yes, you have made me particularly miserable, but look at the masterpiece I created". And it wasn't even mentioned in the tracklist for the LP printing. One of those songs that need to be heard over and over and over to try to understand the begining of the end.

I see all my dreams come tumbling down
I won't be happy without you around
